Synth pop is an unquenchable fire! Destroy the past!

Break out the fizzy wine with the summery pop of Printed Circuit- go here, click on Banana Split, fall in love with what synth pop can do.

As the slogan for Sarah Records used to go... Habit and fear of change are the worst reasons for ever doing ANYTHING...

I welcome change, but sometimes fear it. Weird song, yet interesting. Not sure about it, although I know I'll probably not give it a second listen. I preferred the one that went "one banana, two banana, three banana, four............
Remember that? A classic!

NA NA NA
NA NA NA NA
NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA

MLC's back! Fantastic- you're very welcome.

TJ- I think this wee song's a cracker, but it's also obvious that it could be really annoying if you're not in the mood for it. Best place for it would be in the middle of an oscure compilation of dark synthy stuff, where it stands out as being good fun and sunshiney.

What's that other song? Seems reminiscent of
'na na,
na na na,
na na na na na na na-
CELTIC!'
but I think you might be referring to another tune?

The banana splits tune is from the kids programme in the early eighties. I loved that show! Not sure if it would have been shown in Derry.

Google search it to find the proper version, but check out

http://12121.hostinguk.com/splits.htm

for a version in keeping with your syth pop thread.

Apparently I got the lyrics wrong too.

Eratum:

Tra la la
la la la la
Tra la la, la la la la la

Finally - any other good tra la la/ na na na tunes? Your one is a classic.

There's always the would-have-been-a-classic-if-it-had-ever-got-off-the-ground:

na na
na na na na
na na na na
na na NA-KA-MU-RA!

Excellent.
Suggest that one on celticminded and see how it goes.

Just noticed that there's a new Belle and Sebastian session on the KEXP site - which is my favourite site today. Just thought some of your readers may be interested. Clum?
